Tivity Health is searching for a Manager of Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting who is not only going to fill the qualifications for this job description, but who is going to exceed expectations in leading the Company's financial reporting, internal controls and technical accounting processes with integrity, self-confidence, accountability and adaptability. The Manager of Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting is responsible for the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual internal and external financial statements and related schedules, is the primary point of contact for technical accounting research and documentation and supports the G/L accounting team in certain accounting and internal controls-related duties as part of the month-end close cycle. The position is also responsible for adhering to and assisting with the establishment and maintenance of accounting policy that is in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. The Manager of Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting ensures that internal controls are implemented and operating effectively and delivers quality and accurate financial information to the business and external stakeholders on a timely basis. Essential Functions

• Prepares and/or reviews detailed monthly financial statements and variance reports to support management in the review of the monthly operating performance and key performance indicators
• Prepares and/or reviews monthly, quarterly and annual internal and external financial reporting packages, including variance analysis and commentary
• Assists management and senior leadership as needed with financial information requests and questions
• Performs research and documents conclusions, including writing technical accounting memoranda, on technical accounting matters including revenue recognition, purchase accounting, software capitalization, debt / equity accounting, etc.
• Collaborates with G/L Accounting team, FP&A, Business Leaders, Ops. Finance and Management
• Leads and participates in regular financial review meetings
• Ensures that all reporting deadlines are consistently achieved
• Assists with the Company's internal and external audit process
• Assists with the oversight and management of the Company's internal control environment and framework, including preparation and/or review of certain controls

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance; master's degree and/or CPA preferred
  • 4+ years' experience in financial accounting and/or audit
  • Public Accounting experience preferred
  • Proficient in understanding and research of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Skillful in technical writing and variance analysis and explanation
  • Oracle, Adaptive (Workday), SpreadsheetServer (InsightSoftware) experience is a plus
