Ardent has also been recognized by Comparably's Best Places to Work Awards, earning honors in the Best CEO, Best Company for Women, Best Leadership Teams and Best Work Life Balance categories among others.We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Vice President, Reimbursement (Medicare and Medicaid) to join our Reimbursement team.POSITION SUMMARYThe Assistant Vice President, Reimbursement is responsible for, but not limited to, overseeing preparation and review of annual Medicare, Medicaid and other third-party cost reports in full compliance of federal and state regulations and company policies and procedures; cost report audits and appeals; leading special reimbursement project (Medicare Bad Debt, S-10, etc.); providing technical and analytical support on reimbursement related issues; research and impact analysis of current and future regulations and reporting requirements; month-end and annual reviews of current and prior cost reporting period retroactive settlement accounts; and technical and analytical support during annual forecasting process. Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes and directs Ardent's reimbursement function, to support accurate financial reporting and ensure Medicare / Medicaid regulatory compliance.
  • Recommends policies and procedures to senior management, to support accurate financial reporting and Medicare / Medicaid regulatory compliance.
  • Assists in recruiting personnel to support Ardent's reimbursement department and ensures appropriate training and development of such personnel.
  • Oversees the reimbursement staff and reimbursement operations, to ensure that objectives of Ardent's reimbursement function are met.
  • Manages the Medicare cost report appeals process in coordination with outside counsel
  • Maintains appropriate level of expertise in the area of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement. Monitors regulatory changes in such programs.
  • Provides appropriate assistance to external auditors in their conduct of interim and annual financial audit activities.
  • Represents Ardent via active participation and leadership with selected trade organizations, such as Federation of American Hospitals.
  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with Intermediaries and various governmental agencies.
  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with Ardent Corporate, Group, and local hospital personnel.
  • Oversees and/or performs special projects as assigned by VP, Reimbursement
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains appropriate level of expertise in the area of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement. Monitors regulatory changes in such programs. QualificationsEducation & Experience:
    • BBA or BS in Accounting, Finance or Business
    • 5 - 10 years' experience in healthcare accounting and/or healthcare analytical experience
    • 5+ years working directly with Medicare cost reports.#LI-AM1
