Job Description /n /n Lead HVAC Estimator /n Department: Preconstruction / Estimating Reports To: VP of Operations or Preconstruction Manager Location: Nashville, TN /n /n Position Summary: /n /n The Lead HVAC Estimator is responsible for overseeing the estimating process for commercial mechanical projects, including HVAC systems, piping, and related mechanical scopes. This role leads the estimating team, develops competitive and accurate bids, and works closely with project management, operations, and executive leadership to secure profitable projects. /n The Lead HVAC Estimator ensures all estimates align with company standards, market conditions, and project requirements while supporting business growth and maintaining strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and clients. /n /n Key Responsibilities /n Estimating Leadership /n /n - Lead and coordinate the estimating team for commercial HVAC projects. /n - Review and assign bid opportunities to estimators. /n - Establish estimating strategies and procedures. /n - Ensure consistency and accuracy in all estimates. /n /n Project Estimating /n /n - Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial HVAC and mechanical systems. /n - Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and bid documents. /n - Analyze labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs. /n - Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids. /n /n Bid Management /n /n - Review project specifications and drawings to determine scope. /n - Lead bid reviews and risk assessments. /n - Prepare bid proposals and scope clarifications. /n - Ensure estimates meet company profit margin targets. /n /n Collaboration /n /n - Work with project managers and operations during preconstruction. /n - Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits. /n - Assist with project handoff to the project management team after award. /n /n Vendor and Subcontractor Relations /n /n - Develop relationships with suppliers and subcontractors. /n - Negotiate pricing and scope. /n - Maintain updated pricing databases. /n /n Process Improvement /n /n - Track bid results and performance metrics. /n - Improve estimating accuracy and procedures. /n - Maintain historical cost databases. /n /n /n Required Qualifications /n /n /n /n /n /n - 5–10 years of commercial HVAC estimating experience /n - Experience estimating mechanical systems, HVAC equipment, ductwork, piping, and controls /n - Strong understanding of commercial construction documents /n - Experience with estimating software and takeoff tools ( Quote Soft is a } /n /n /n /n /n /n /n /n /n · /n Job Type: Full-time /n Salary: $75-110K depending on experience /n /n Location- Nashville TN Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/Disabled
