Job Description Job Description We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Junior Electrician to support electrical maintenance and infrastructure operations at the Missile and Space Intelligence Center (MSIC), located at Redstone Arsenal. This position will work alongside a certified Journeyman Electrician to perform installation, modification, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and facility equipment. The Junior Electrician will assist in executing facility upgrades, maintaining power systems, and ensuring compliance with federal safety standards. This is a full-time, on-site position. Primary Responsibilities: Assist in the installation, relocation, and repair of electrical systems including power, lighting, transformers, motors, pumps, exhaust fans, and distribution units Support load evaluations, circuit tracing, and updates to panel cards and electrical drawings Help restore facility components during modification projects, including ceiling tiles, raised flooring, and wall finishes Participate in the setup of distribution boxes, communication and security wiring, and other facility systems Maintain OSHA-compliant safety practices and support safe job site operations Assist in transporting tools, materials, and equipment within MSIC and to/from local vendors Work under supervision to identify material needs and assist in replacing outdated or discontinued components Learn to use measurement and diagnostic tools associated with electrical/general maintenance work Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical work or technical/vocational training Foundational knowledge of electrical systems and safety standards Ability to interpret basic electrical diagrams and assist in updating documentation Comfortable using hand tools, testing equipment, and basic power tools Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs Ability to work in a physically active role and move between buildings on Redstone Arsenal Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance OSHA 10 certification preferred (or must be completed within 60 days of hire) Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented and mission-driven environment Travel Requirement: Local travel within Redstone Arsenal and occasional trips to local vendors Mileage reimbursement provided for on-duty use of personal vehicle (up to 1,200 miles annually per contract period per GSA rates)
