Job SummaryAECOM is seeking a talented and experienced Traffic Engineer to join our team in Franklin, TN. The ideal candidate willget to be part of a civil transportation engineering team working on challenging new traffic and safety projects. Also, will be opportunity to get involved in traffic studies to include planning design operations safety, traffic impact, signal timing and evaluation of alternatives through engineering analysis using data models and other tools.Daily duties and other tasks;

  • Traffic engineering design work including plan development, specification, and cost estimating under guidance from senior staff to apply client requirements and industry standards.
  • Complete project tasks as assigned in an organized manner, communicating progress, delays, priority conflicts, and other matters with supervisors to support a coordinated project delivery.
  • Safely conduct field work adjacent to active roadways in compliance with AECOM safety requirements when/where necessary to gather data, support design plan development, conduct system testing, and complete other tasks.
  • Communicate effectively in the form of e-mail, memoranda, reports, and presentations.
  • Maintain project records; organize project submittal reviews and other miscellaneous project support tasks.
  • Participate in client meetings to discuss project requirements, explain work, etc.
  • Participate in marketing for project pursuits, including written and oral proposals.

    • BA/BS plus 4 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
    • Professional Engineer license in the State of Tennessee, or the ability to obtain license within 6 months
    • Experience in traffic operational analysis including traffic projections, analysis, and simulation; traffic safety analysis; traffic signal warrants; traffic signal and pedestrian crossing control system analysis and design; and traffic signing and pavement marking analysis and designPreferred Qualifications
      • Experience in supporting business development activities including preparing project proposals and firm marketing
      • Experience in task/project management, staff oversight, application and development of technical skills, and experience working directly with internal and external clients
      • Experience in mentorship and development of traffic engineering interns and / or new graduate staff
      • Familiar with or knowledge of traffic analysis software such as: Synchro, VISSIM, TransModeler, HCS or other similar applications
      • Familiar with or knowledge of design software such as: MicroStation,OpenRoads, AutoCAD, GuideSIGN, AutoTURN or other similar applications
      • Proficient with standard Microsoft Office applications
