Responsibilities
The Manager - Data Engineering is responsible for overseeing our data engineering team and projects ensuring the company has the data required for operating the business and driving better financial and clinical outcomes. This role will be responsible for designing and implementing data pipelines, ensuring data quality, optimizing data performance, and managing a team of data engineers to meet business goals. This role will work closely with the Software Engineering team to ensure provide robust data foundations for their application development.


Essential Functions:


  • Manages a team of data engineers to develop, implement, and maintain data pipelines and data infrastructure.
  • Collaborates with other teams to understand their data needs and provide solutions to meet their requirements.
  • Develops and implements scalable data architectures that support our healthcare data infrastructure.
  • Ensures data quality and accuracy by establishing data validation processes and data cleansing techniques.
  • Designs and implements data performance monitoring and optimization strategies to meet service-level agreements.
  • Stays up-to-date with the latest developments in healthcare data engineering, data architecture, and big data technologies.
  • Establishes and enforces data governance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Manages project timelines and budgets, ensuring that the team meets deliverables on time and within budget.
  • Responsible for learning the aspects of compliance in the company by completing all mandatory compliance training.
  • Ensure adherence to objectives, operating policies and procedures, and strategic action plans for achieving goals.
  • Motivates self and overall team and supports supervisors within team to create a positive, productive and efficient work environment supportive of our values while meeting and exceeding our company goals.
  • Leads by example, within team and as a result overall staff in attitude and work performance that represents our values.
  • Recognizes strong individual and team performance in support of our values and company goals.
  • Interviews candidates for positions that report to the Manager Data Engineering as necessary.
  • Responsible for overseeing training for positions that report to the Manager Data Engineering.
  • Responsible for overseeing performance and any related counseling of positions that report to the , up to and including recommendation for termination of employment.
  • Responsible for employees adhering to Standards of Operation, Core Values, and all other company policies.
  • Responsible for overseeing annual review process for positions that report to the Manager Data Engineering.
  • The ability to provide training to positions that report to the Manager Data Engineering on Company Standards of operations.
  • The ability to provide ongoing monitoring of standards by conducting standards testing on positions that report to the Manager Data Engineering.
  • The ability to perform the physical, use of senses, cognitive, and environmental functions of the position, as specified on the physical demands.
  • The ability to build and maintain confidence and credibility with all clients and employees.
  • The ability to maintain friendly, cordial relations with all clients and employees; maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that results in a positive work relationship with customers, co-workers, and managers.
  • Ability to comply with Company Standards of Operations.

    Experience Requirements and Preferences:
    Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field or equivalent years of experience in data engineering

    • Strong knowledge of relational databases.
    • Strong knowledge of big data technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases.

      -AND
      Experience:Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role

      • Experience in designing and implementing scalable data architectures.
      • Experience in healthcare data, including HIPAA compliance, Electronic Medical Records (EMR), and healthcare data exchange standards.
      • Experience in data governance, data quality, and data management.

        Education Requirements: Bachelors Degree Required, Master Degree Preferred
