The Sr. Specialist Project Engineer role involves performing and/or coordinating propulsion program tasks in conjunction with program management. Under -general -direction, you will be responsible for implementing design and analysis tasks and overseeing special studies and experiments. Additionally, you will coordinate ballistic, thermal, and structural analyses, as well as perform post-test examination, analyses, and reporting while supporting the program technical lead. -Essential Functions:

• Provide imaginative, thorough, and practicable solutions to a wide range of technical problems involving the conventional utilization of engineering techniques.
• Read, interpret, and write specifications and technical documents.
• Prepare technical and design requirements in support of project goals.
• Keep current in relevant technologies and methods in support of project assignments.
• Provide direction in problem investigations and resolution across functional areas.
• Understanding and/or leads Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) process.
• May be assigned Earned Value Management duties.
• Travel up to 10%. -Qualifications:
• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline and -minimum of 6 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. -Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Four (4) or more years of experience with solid propellant propulsion projects is highly desired.
  • CAD knowledge is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with technical and non-technical professionals at all levels inside and outside of the organization
  • Ability to work well both independently and within a team environment
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure, in a collaborative, dynamic and multi-disciplinary environment
  • Strong time management skills
