an Entry-level Roadway/ Transportation Design Engineer to join the
team in Nashville, TN. In this position, you will have the
opportunity to be mentored and trained by technical experts in the
field of transportation design. This position is also available in
Knoxville, TN & Chattanooga, TN. About the Role We are seeking a
motivated Entry-Level Transportation Engineer to join our team and
contribute to key roadway design projects for the Tennessee
Department of Transportation (TDOT) and other clients. In this
role, you will support the development of transportation
infrastructure by preparing conceptual designs and construction
plans using OpenRoads Designer and other industry-standard
software. Key Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of
geometric highway and street designs, including horizontal and
vertical alignments, superelevation, typical sections, and cross
sections tailored to TDOT standards. Contribute to drainage design
efforts involving hydrology and hydraulic analysis relevant to
roadway projects. Help develop complete roadway corridor models and
construction plan sets in compliance with TDOT policies and
guidelines. Calculate and tabulate material quantities and generate
construction estimates. Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure
all designs meet AASHTO, MUTCD, and TDOT design criteria.
Qualifications & Skills Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in
Civil Engineering or another closely related field Preferred
Qualifications: EIT Certification Familiarity with OpenRoads
Designer, MicroStation, or similar civil design software is
preferred. Basic understanding of geometric design principles,
traffic operations, and relevant standards (AASHTO, MUTCD, TDOT
specifications). Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint). Strong organizational skills with the ability
to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Commitment to learning and

that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $62,120
- $92,457. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several
factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity,
