Davis House Child Advocacy CenterExecutive DirectorJob DescriptionPosition Summary: The Executive Director, under the guidance of, and in conjunction with, the Board of Directors, is responsible for carrying out the mission, objectives and financial health of Davis House Child Advocacy Center (DHCAC). The Executive Director is responsible for the management, operational and development functions of the organization and will direct and manage the facilities, programs, staff and all activities associated with fulfilling its mission and reaching its financial objectives. The Executive Director will be the organization's liaison to the public and community.----DHCAC Mission:Davis House Child Advocacy Center (DHCAC) is the dba (doing business as) name of Williamson County Child Advocacy Center,--a 501c3 non-profit organization serving child victims of sexual and severe physical abuse. The mission of Davis House Child Advocacy Center--is to combat child abuse by coordinating services to children and their families in crisis and providing community education focused on prevention and early intervention. This is accomplished by providing investigative and healing services in response to allegations of sexual and severe physical abuse and providing community education designed to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child abuse.Location and Areas Served:This position is based out of the Franklin, TN administrative office and is a full-time, exempt position which reports directly to the Board of Directors.--The position requires some travel within the DHCAC service area, including Hickman, Lewis, Perry and Williamson counties. DHCAC offices are located in the cities of Franklin (main office), Centerville and Hohenwald. Salary is determined by the Board of Directors and is commensurate with qualifications and experience.--Essential Duties and Responsibilities:--Financial/Development/Legal----------------Develop an annual budget that supports the achievement of the strategic plan and reflects responsible fiduciary oversight in conjunction with the Board of Directors----------------Develop funding opportunities/sources consistent with the organization's mission and strategic planning goals----------------Develop and oversee all fundraising activities that align with the strategic plan that are established in conjunction with the Board of Directors----------------Cultivate relationships with local businesses, foster existing donor relationships, and identify new DHCAC donors and sponsors----------------Lead and direct the development staff and volunteers in the execution of stated goals----------------Develop and maintain sound financial practices and working with the Board of Directors to ensure that adequate funds are available to permit the Center to carry out its work----------------Jointly, with the appropriate Officers from the Board of Directors, execute legal documents--Staff/Culture----------------Oversee the recruitment, employment and retention of all personnel; both paid staff and volunteers----------------Responsible, with Board approval, for the release/termination of employees----------------Ensure that job descriptions are developed, that regular performance evaluations are held and that sound human resource practices are in place----------------See that an effective management/leadership team is in place, with appropriate provision for succession, and that this group is cultivated for maximum organizational effectiveness and efficiency----------------Encourage staff and volunteer development and education, and assist program staff in relating their specialized work to the total program of the Center----------------Maintain a climate that attracts, retains and motivates a diverse staff of top-quality people; this includes regular and consistent staff meetings with appropriate Board of Director involvement as deemed necessary----------------Oversee the establishment and maintenance of all human resource/personnel functions of Davis House----Communications/Public Relations----------------Assure that the board is kept fully informed of the Center's condition and all related, important factors----------------Publicize the activities of the Center, its programs, goals, accomplishments and impact----------------Represent the programs and points of view of the Center to government agencies, civic and social organizations and the general public----------------Conduct all media interviews, official correspondence, and appropriately represent Davis House through the media----------------Represent Davis House and maintain a presence in each community served, and with multiple organizations (Chambers of Commerce, Professional/Industry associations, civic groups, other non-profits, collaborative partners, etc.)----Administrative/Operational----------------Provide visioning, strategy and leadership skills in collaboration with the Board of Directors to plan, develop, staff, implement and execute the vision and strategic plan for the organization to ensure timely and consistent progress----------------Responsible for the advancement of Davis House through sourcing, cultivating and stewarding relationships with the community, funders, collaborators and business/political leaders------------------Collaborate and help drive engagement with the Board of Directors for the effective governance of the organization and to carry out plans and policies authorized by the Board------------------Oversee all reporting requirements, including annual grant, licensing and program reports and audits, along with financial audits and tax returns----------------Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field----------------Assure that the Center maintains NCA accreditation in conjunction with the Director of Victim Services----Qualifications:----Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years of business, non-profit management, administrative or relevant experience or responsibility is necessary.--Proven leadership ability and staff management skills are required.--Professional appearance and demeanor are required along with excellent oral, written and public speaking skills.--Candidate should have leadership experience in the strategic planning, budgeting and marketing processes. Candidate should have experience in--the planning and execution of successful fundraising campaigns.
