Job Description:

The Director of Institutional Advancement will support the mission of the college, the PDCCC Foundation and the President.The office's functions include: public relations, marketing and publications, communications, alumni affairs, community and media relations, grants, and fundraising. The Paul D. Camp Community College Foundation, a not-for-profit organization made up of community leaders, also falls under the Office of Institutional Advancement.The Director of Institutional Advancement is responsible for the following: Serves as a member of the President's Staff to provide leadership in the area of Institutional Advancement. Specific responsibilities include: develop and implementation of institutional advancement policies and procedures; develop a departmental strategic plan that addresses the resource needs for the institution; establishing and implementing plans to generate funds to meet resource needs not satisfied by the State including donations and grants; developing strategies to market the institution; serve as the liaison for the Paul D. Camp Community College Foundation.This position also will show strong computer and Internet research skills, flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, project coordination experience, and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors. This role is also responsible for having sensitivity to confidential matters.Minimum QualificationsDemonstrated experience in higher education or non-profit administration. Demonstrated ability to plan and lead fund raising campaigns. Ability to cultivate and solicit major gifts. Ability to articulate the college's strategic needs, opportunities, and vision with clarity and enthusiasm. Ability to operate a foundation in a higher education setting, including board development and management. Ability to create public relations and market plans to successfully promote the College. Demonstrated ability to: conduct long range planning, utilize technology and social media. Demonstrated understanding of resource planning and budget management. Demonstrated understanding and belief in the comprehensive mission of the community college.Position also requires extensive knowledge of fundraising, project coordination experience, group facilitation skills, flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors. Sensitivity to confidential matters is required. Must have familiarity with Microsoft Office, Sage, Award Spring, QuickBooks, Internet and other relevant software for the day to day processes within the department. Incumbent must have a record of achievement in management of records and financial documentation. Incumbent should have comprehensive knowledge and experience in all phases of office management including events; budget, financial and project management skills; critical thinking and problem solving skills; excellent organizational skills including the ability to prioritize multiple work duties, and manage conflicting tasks, while paying attention to detail; ability to collect, analyze data and formulate plans; excellent verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to work independently, as well as possess excellent decision making and judgment skills; excellent record keeping skills within QuickBooks and critical foundation financial records.Bachelor's degree in business, public relations, communications or related field, or equivalent knowledge and experience. Experience in the field of development or higher educational fundraising. Experience in providing excellent customer service in a high-pressure environment. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Willingness and ability to travel.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in business, public relations, communications, or related field, or equivalent knowledge and experience.Special RequirementsMonday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; evenings and weekends as needed for special events. Some overnight travel required.
