Resource Label Group (RLG) is a leader in providing innovative packaging solutions. To help us continue to grow and improve our offering, we're in search of an experienced Product Manager to lead product related strategies and activities for the company's product portfolio. The initial area of focus will be directed at company's Shrink Sleeve Label product portfolio. An ideal candidate, will need to possess the ability to understand the critical needs and requirements for the product offering across multiple vertical markets, including Food, Beverage, Household Chemicals, Nutraceuticals, and other major markets utilizing Shrink Sleeve label decoration.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for overall development of assigned label product portfolio, ensuring product portfolio meets label decoration requirements for company customer base to meet RLG growth objectives. Works cross-functionally to drive common "go to market" approach to significantly improve RLG's value proposition. Lead common understanding of critical customer needs related to printing, finishing, label decoration and related RLG asset requirements to meet customer requirements.

- Assesses, analyzes and implements strategies to achieve company product revenue and growth objectives, initially directed at Shrink Sleeve label product segment. Develop clear understanding and map of product growth plans across company network and by vertical market segment. Steward product segment performance including reporting, analysis, and actions plans on established reporting cadence.

- Determines need and application of related RLG product branding, supporting market leadership position for RLG in given product category (eg Shrink Sleeve Labeling). Develops brand identification, image, and market recognition for RLG product brands, supporting leadership position.

- Works closely with Marketing team in leveraging product knowledge and branding as path to developing enhanced and detailed product information, used to support website and product collateral development. Develops and executes product related content strategy platform, including development of calendarized communication program and objectives, highlighting company value proposition for specific products into targeted vertical segments.

- Determines what product related information and collateral is required to support sales education and training and complement customer and new prospect development. Develops and conducts product training sessions to ensure RLG sales organization is provided with full breadth of product knowledge to support overall sales effectiveness. Develops regular (monthly, quarterly) cadence and communication with Sales Team to ensure sales associates remain fully informed on updated product and related strategy information.

- Supports RLG Sales organization product related needs, including development of effective presentation information on RLG product line, related label application information, and representation of overall RLG value proposition. Regularly issues updated product information, content, and presentations to Sales organization to support selling process. Provides direct support to Sales team as needed for key meetings and associated product presentations, including meeting attendance, content, and participation.

- Provides field application support to Sales organization, ensuring RLG products perform as expected in customer use, and provides overall guidance related to label application process and standards to Sales organization and to customers as needed. Develops and issues relevant label application technical guidance, supporting product performance in the field.

- Together with RLG Supply Chain team, interacts with key RLG suppliers to understand breadth and performance characteristics of available raw materials. Leverages resources from key RLG suppliers and utilizes related information to shape RLG product strategies and external product information. Translates key supplier product information into relevant language, data sheets, presentations, white papers and other content, relevant to development of RLG value proposition in the market.

- Liaises with RLG Sustainability Director in assessing product-related Sustainability requirements for given product category. Determines related portfolio needs and ensures Sustainability requirements in market segments are addressed in developing overall product line strategy.

- Engages externally to identify relevant new product development opportunities and shape future RLG product line extensions. Ensures RLG product category leadership through leveraging market introduction of key new products and extensions.

- Tracks and analyzes consumer needs and trends relevant to RLG product portfolio. Understands associated products and technologies and assesses potential third party relationships that would create added value for RLG and our customers. Assess ROI of relationships, opportunities and communicates related ROI and build vs buy assessments.

- Tracks key and relevant competitors in major RLG product categories. Assesses, understands and communicates competitor positions and perceived strengths and weaknesses. Factors competitive analysis into product line assessment and strategy development.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No direct supervision expected in this role. Influence without direct authority.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Packaging, or Engineering related category is required. MBA is desired but not essential.
- Minimum of 5 - 7 years of experience in packaging related field, including Marketing, Sales, or Technology related roles is preferred. Experience working for a packaging manufacturing company, or for a brand owner in a packaging related role would be relevant.
