Chart is actively seeking a Global Category Manager-Metals. This
can be a remote role with preferred locations close to our
facilities.

International travel up to 20% is expected.
What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be
Lead & develop the Metals Category strategy and coordinate
implementation with Regional Category Managers.
Drive a proactive purchasing approach across the regions to respond
to market fluctuations.
Manage & shape overall supply base to create a favourable advantage
for Chart operating companies.
Define category strategy & gain buy-in from key stakeholders for
specific initiatives to execute strategy.
Implement Long-Term Agreements and Price Lists with Suppliers that
define fair sharing of risk & accountability.
Ensure Chart has the best market intelligence tools to provide
actionable insight globally.
Monitor supply markets, commodity trends, and risks and advise
operating companies on how to respond.
Select & drive implementation of most effective supply chain (mills
or distributors) balanced with operational needs & constraints.
Continuously build & maintain funnel of savings initiatives and
achieve verified savings targets.
Lead supplier management through deployment of supplier tiering and
manage Tier 1 supplier relations.
Develop and manage communication plan, to include engagement
activity, dissemination of sourcing strategy and compliance for
Metals among the Category Communities
Current annual spend -$300M
Your Education Should Be
Bachelor's degree in Engineer, Finance, Business Administration or
similar
Master is preferred
Your Professional Experience Should Be
Six (6) years relevant experience in Procurement, Supply Chain,
Strategic Sourcing
3 years Relevant experience in metals market
Experience of working across multiple locations, understanding the
constraints and working culture within them
Strong leadership skills and ability to influence and lead small
teams
Strategic focus with the ability to analyse, formulate and
implement strategic procurement strategies to significantly reduce
cost
