Professional Project Manager
Location: Remote
Travel: 10-20% to Franklin, TN
Pay: Based on experience
Duration: Long term contract
The Professional Project Manager will be responsible for
coordinating the many diverse, and often complex small and large
scaled projects in our automotive client's new 4R Energy business
division. -
The Project Manger's responsibilities will include but is not
limited to creating and managing detailed project plans for the
various business functions and -areas; align resource capacity and
allocation to work to ensure on-time, high quality, and delivery of
project tasks; and oversee all aspects of projects.
The position will manage performance to plan and quality
deliverable KPIs. The PM will report directly to, and support, the
4R VP and Director, while collaborating with the 4R team members
and other cross-functional areas within the organization
Responsibilities:
Manage the creation and performance tracking of detailed project
plans for four to five 4R business functions and their associated
5-10 core projects in each area, for projects with varying levels
of complexity. - Input of plans into professional project
management software tools for tracking and performance
management.
Manage highly detailed, and often complex interrelated projects as
part of a business transformation and new organization
stand-up.
Maintain and update comprehensive project documents including
project overviews, business plans, KPI objectives, core activities,
milestones, and quality gates to align with expected project
deliverables & results.
Coordinate with internal Managers and their resources, and third
parties to ensure the timing, quality, and on budget execution of
projects.
Oversee and get input on team resource availability and time
allocation based on project schedule requirements. - Use
verification techniques to manage project changes to timing, scope,
schedule, budget, and deliverables.
Develop, define, and measure project activities and performance
using appropriate systems, software tools, and techniques.
Weekly or Bi-weekly project plan reviews with 4R functional areas
and key stakeholders for alignment to goals & objectives, updates
and modifications to project plans.
Perform project risk management assessments on a regular basis
Report weekly to Senior Leadership on the progress of project and
team activities; escalating project activity execution risks as
required.
Job Knowledge and Skill:
Minimum of 7 years of direct professional project management
experience working in large multi-function companies. -
Excellent computer software and project facilitation skills is a
must. -
Comfortable managing multiple projects and tasks across diverse
groups. - Management, budgeting oversight, analysis and
problem-solving key. -
Experience working in Professional Consulting environment requiring
detailed project - activity management.
Communication Skills:
Very strong interpersonal and communication skills; strong ability
to discuss business processes aligned with projects and deliver
presentations to the executive level. Must be able to interact with
cross-functional teams, collaborate project activities &
deliverables, and build consensus for global business units.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong business acumen
Proficient data driven analysis and insight identification
Ability to think outside the box
Ability to lead and work cross functionally
Experience:
10 or more years of related experience at a professional level
working in large companies with direct program management
responsibility, large business transformation projects, and/or
business planning. -
5 or more years using Project Management software tools in complex
project management environment. - -
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related business or project management
discipline.
Advanced degree preferred. Engineering PM, Technology solutions PM,
Business Management & Planning, Consulting, or Program/project
management certifications a plus.
Computer Skills:
Deep understanding and working knowledge- of Project Management
software tools (Microsoft Project preferred).
Thorough computer knowledge with personal productivity tools such
as word processor, spreadsheet, presentation tools, Visio, and
other relevant PC applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong business acumen
Proficient data driven analysis and insight identification
Ability to think outside the box
Ability to lead and work cross functionally
