Overview: The Director of Clinical Informatics is responsible for promoting the understanding, integration and application of healthcare information technology in support of the organization s mission, vision, principles and industry best practices related to documentation integrity. The Director of Clinical Informatics is a subject matter expert who assists with planning, design, development, testing, end user training, implementation support, and adoption of Electronic Health Record to achieve excellent documentation integrity. These initiatives are intended to improve clinical outcomes and ensure end user efficiency.Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Develops and maintains reference material outlining Acadia s formats and best practices in documentation. Establishes, develops, and maintains a library of electronic healthcare record trainings. Serves as a resource to end users for information systems and technology, effectively communicate system changes, workflow process changes, downtime procedures, etc. to all clinicians and providers. Acts as a key resource regarding education, support, training, policies and procedures, and ongoing education and support for all upgrades, new releases, and enhanced functionality. Facilitates and supports a robust super-user program and clinical EHR champion(s) at the facility level. Develops training materials for end users to assist with deployment of changes, exhibit excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all work products, and ensure up to date project documentation. Participates in creating test scenarios and conducting user acceptance testing. Participates in other projects pertaining to organizational goals and strategies and regulatory requirements - both in consultative and project lead roles OTHER FUNCTIONS: Perform other duties as assigned. STANDARD EXPECTATIONS: Complies with organizational policies, procedures, performance improvement initiatives and maintains organizational and industry policies regarding confidentiality. Communicate clearly and effectively to person(s) receiving services and their family members, guests and other members of the health care team. Develops constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintains them over time. Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect and cooperation among team members.Qualifications: EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor s degree in healthcare related field with emphasis in informatics required. Master s degree with emphasis in informatics preferred. Nurse or licensed behavioral health clinician preferred. A minimum of five years experience in clinical informatics. Strong computer skills including web-based applications, word processing, spreadsheet, graphs and PowerPoint. Possesses knowledge and skills to lead and manage changes associated with implementing or optimizing clinical information systems and promoting adoption by health professionals Knowledge of office administration procedures with the ability to operate most standard office equipment. Ability to work professionally with sensitive, proprietary data & information while maintaining confidentiality. Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with internal and external individuals at all levels. Exercises sound judgment in responding to inquiries; understands when to route inquiries to next level. Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail. Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames. Ability to adapt to frequent priority changes. Capable of working within established policies, procedures, and practices prescribed by the organization. English sufficient to provide and receive instructions/directions.
