Job Description:
TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center is proud to offer a
comprehensive Operating Room Nurse Residency for recent graduates
and nurses transitioning into the perioperative field. Located in
the heart of Nashville, TN, our facility is committed to delivering
high-quality, compassionate care through innovative techniques in
emergency care, cardiology, orthopedics, and rehabilitation. The
residency program is designed to equip new nurses with the skills
and confidence needed to thrive in a dynamic operating room
environment. Over the program duration, residents will be mentored
by experienced perioperative nurses and will gain hands-on
experience that encompasses pre-operative, intra-operative, and
post-operative care procedures. Participate in extensive training
covering all aspects of perioperative nursing, including patient
assessment, sterile techniques, and surgical procedures. Provide
direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the
application of scientific nursing principles. Assist in surgical
operations under the supervision of experienced nurses and
surgeons. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as
appropriate, utilizing computerized documentation systems. Adhere
to all necessary safety and compliance standards within the
operating room. Participate in discussions and practical workshops,
continuing education sessions, and assessments to ensure continuous
development and improvement. Strong clinical skills and knowledge
of human anatomy. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in stressful situations and respond to
emergencies with composure. Proficiency in using medical software
and electronic health records. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance
Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Current Registered Nurse (RN)
license in the state of Tennessee. Basic Life Support (BLS)
certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is
advantageous.
