Job Description Electrophysiologist – Altoona, Pennsylvania Hospital-Employed | Established EP Program | Strong Volumes Clinical Opportunity A well-established cardiology group in Altoona is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Electrophysiologist to join a mature, high-volume EP program within a supportive, multispecialty cardiovascular service line. Cardiology Practice Overview Join a cardiology team including: 2 Interventional Cardiologists 1 Non-Invasive Cardiologist 2 Electrophysiologists 1 Heart Failure Specialist Established pacemaker clinic and dedicated EP clinic Solid, built-in patient base Supported by experienced Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners Practice Structure & Schedule Primarily outpatient-based practice Estimated 25 patients per day Weekly schedule: 2 days in clinic 3 days in EP lab performing procedures Office hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Call: 1 night per week (Monday–Friday) 1 in every 5 weekends Procedure & Volume Highlights (2023) Cath Lab Patient visits: 2,511 Catheterizations: 1,975 Drug-eluting stents: 814 Watchman procedures: 309 TAVR procedures: 64 Impella: 13 Rotablator: 27 EP Lab Patient visits: 1,187 Pacemaker insertions: 177 Bi-V pacemakers: 20 ICD insertions: 56 Bi-V ICDs: 65 Loop recorder insertions: 177 EP studies: 23 Simple ablations: 171 Complex ablations: 361 Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary plus wRVU productivity bonus Sign-on bonus Relocation assistance Annual CME stipend Paid vacation Comprehensive benefits package: Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance Retirement plan Malpractice insurance Community & Lifestyle Altoona is a welcoming, family-oriented city surrounded by mountains in central Pennsylvania Altoona/Blair County population: ~130,000 Hospital primary service area: ~350,000 Trauma referral area: 1 million across 20 counties Excellent public and private school options Abundant outdoor recreation: hiking, biking, skiing, fishing, and golf Access to five major metropolitan areas within 2–5 hours Local airport and Amtrak train service available Next Steps Allow RecruitWell to coordinate a confidential introductory call with you and the client to review case mix, compensation structure, and call expectations.
