Job Description:
Position: Vice President of Procurement Reporting to the Chief
Technology Officer, the Vice President (VP) of Procurement is a
senior leadership role responsible for strategically guiding and
optimizing the procurement function within the organization. This
individual will lead a team dedicated to sourcing, negotiating, and
acquiring goods and services while ensuring compliance,
cost-effectiveness, and alignment with the organization's goals.
The VP will leverage both internal expertise and industry best
practices to drive innovation, efficiency, and value across the
procurement department. Responsibilities Identify, evaluate, and
onboard suppliers for a wide range of goods and services. Develop
and maintain vendor relationships to ensure continuity,
reliability, and quality of supply. Negotiate favorable pricing,
delivery schedules, and payment terms to maximize organizational
value. Ensure all procurement activities adhere to legal, ethical,
and organizational policies and standards. Oversee requisition,
purchase order, and approval workflows. Drive the transition from
fragmented systems to streamlined platforms, such as integrating
Salesforce for direct ordering and improved process efficiency.
Manage inventory tracking and fulfillment processes, ensuring
optimal stock levels and timely delivery. Implement controls in
accordance with HIPAA/HITRUST compliance standards and promote cost
transparency throughout the supply chain. Leverage bulk purchasing
and vendor price-breaks to achieve significant cost savings.
Continuously refine order quantities and purchasing strategies to
minimize waste and secure advantageous pricing. Manage procurement
activities related to patient education communications, including
educational materials. Process and deliver patient materials, such
as Welcome Packets, Care Plans, and Patient Education, promptly.
Oversee enterprise Return to Sender workflows, including
reconciliation of undeliverable patient mail, address validation,
and collaboration with data quality teams. Collaborate with major
internal departments—such as IT, Marketing, Finance, and Clinical
Operations—to align procurement strategies that support and further
the organization’s goals. Assess supplier stability and implement
contingency plans to mitigate supply chain risks and ensure
business continuity. Lead the implementation of integrated
procurement platforms for real-time visibility and process
automation. Explore and deploy AI-driven demand forecasting and
spend analytics to enhance decision-making and efficiency. Expand
bulk purchasing programs and negotiate volume discounts with
vendors. Optimize shipping and fulfillment operations to reduce
overhead and improve profitability. Identify and onboard
alternative suppliers to mitigate risk and strengthen supply chain
resilience. Engage in strategic sourcing for specialized materials
and services. Recruit and develop specialized roles such as Supply
Chain & Inventory Specialists to enhance operational capacity.
Upskill team members in areas such as data analytics and compliance
to drive continual improvement. Position Requirements Bachelor’s
degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a
related field. Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience
in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or related functions,
including leadership roles. Proven track record in contract
negotiation, supplier management, and cost optimization. Experience
implementing digital procurement solutions and driving process
improvements. Advanced understanding of compliance standards (e.g.,
HIPAA), sustainability practices, and risk management. Effective
verbal and written communication, stakeholder engagement, and team
