Summary :Empower Rental Group is expanding our HR team and we are hiring a Human Resources Generalist!With a sizeable fleet spread across our southeastern branch network Empower Rental Group provides heavy equipment rentals to the construction, commercial, private and government markets.ERG is a fast growing equipment rental company with 29 locations across the south, is seeking an HR Generalist with positive energy, solid organizational skills and strong relationship building and problem-solving capabilities. The ideal candidate will thrive in a highly dynamic environment and will be energized by the opportunity to build a professional human resources function from the ground up. The HR Generalist position is a highly customer service focused role with responsibility to provide the full range of day to day and project HR support for the Empower Rental Group teams.The ability to shift priorities, pivot quickly and change both frequently and quickly are required. We are a company that is growing very quickly and the day to day involves an enormous amount of change and re-prioritization.This role will be a remote/in office hybrid position. The ideal candidate could be located in TN, FL, TX, SC, KY, TN, AL, MS or GA within a commutable distance to a subsidiary branch location. Please have a physical address on your resume so we can ensure your location will work.Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, the HR Generalist will touch all human resources activities including staffing, employee relations, compensation, benefits, training, compliance, safety and payroll company wide. Specifically, you will: Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Engagement: Provide day to day customer service to all employees that is fast and accurate. Actively support managers in building a positive culture and hiring, retaining and engaging a strong team. Recruitment & New Hire Activities: Provide support for all staffing requirements including posting positions, reviewing resumes, screening candidates, preparing offer letters and administering new hire orientation and training. Benefits: Manage company medical, dental, vision, 401k and other benefit programs, including processing new hires and terminations, reconciling invoices, COBRA, and administering the open enrollment process. Job Descriptions: Develop and maintain job titles, associated classifications in the HRIS and job descriptions. Training: Provide day to day support of and provide some training to improve employee skills and knowledge on job specific functions, company policies, and other issues as they arise. HRIS: Properly maintain personnel records in accordance with legal requirements. Improve workforce productivity by optimizing the use of our HRIS platform. Safety: Assist in the administration of corporate employee safety programs including OSHA reporting, required training, and workers compensation claims administration. Compliance: Develop and administer HR policies, practices, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with applicable US laws and regulations. Manage leaves of absence, workers comp claims and unemployment cases. Other duties as assigned. Technical Qualifications (preferred but all not required): 3-5 years' experience as an HR generalist, with required experience with payroll, benefits, recruiting and employee relations. PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP or -SCP certification. Intermediate Skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Personal Capabilities: Ability to be flexible and pivot quickly. High energy, analytical, & results driven, striving to improve processes every day. Outstanding organizational skills and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and high-volume workload. Strong sense of urgency and results-orientation. Exceptional communication skills, strong relationship building skills, and a positive professional attitude. Discreet, able to handle confidential and proprietary information appropriately.
