The Optum Enterprise Epic Services analysts will work out of our new Nashville, TN office to establish and grow our emerging support service line. Analysts will serve as a liaison between end-users, project team members and other Information Management resources while providing exemplary customer service and Epic application support in their assigned Epic module(s). OEES team members will help position Optum as a center of excellence for application management services.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with end users on Epic Revenue Cycle initiatives including design, configuration/build, testing and go live support to improve workflow efficiencies in line with organizational goals
  • Translate user requirements into functional and technical design specifications and review with client(s) to ensure accuracy
  • Serve as a mentor/subject matter expert to local and client-based team members
  • Lead small to medium complexity Epic software upgrade initiatives or enhancements to workflows including the design, build, and test phases
  • Participate in design and validation sessions and ensure appropriate documentation, follow-up and issue escalation occurs
  • Function as a liaison between Revenue Cycle Operations (RCO), Information Technology (IT) and Third-Party Systems
  • Provide support of application incidents reported through the help desk; including 24/7 on call coverage as required
  • Obtain and maintain in-depth knowledge of software functionality; acquire and utilize knowledge of operational workflows to be implemented
  • Perform in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with Epic software
  • Work with trainers to develop and maintain application specific training curriculum and materials
  • Adhere to organization standards for system configuration and change control
  • Develop strong relationships with end user communities, customers and business partners
  • Attend, participate in, and contribute to meetings throughout the facility

RequiredQualifications

  • 3+ years Epic System Experience
  • Epic Resolute Certification(s) in one or more of the following Epic applications: Resolute Professional Billing, Resolute Hospital Billing, Claims, Home Health Billing
  • Experience in hospital revenue cycle operations
  • Knowledgeable in policies and procedures related to the HIM operational functions.
  • Must hold current 2019 NVT (New Version Training) and Epic CEE (Continued Epic Education) that must be completed to maintain certifications, proficiencies, and badges.
  • Epicsystemsapplication knowledge to design, build, test and support required
  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders

PreferredQualifications

  • Ability to demonstrate and have a history of team management (informal or formal), cross-team communication and leadership skills
  • Proficiency with Excel, Visio,PowerPoint andSharePoint
  • Any combination of certifications and/or experience with Resolute Professional Billing, Resolute Hospital Billing, Claims, Home Health Billing is preferred
  • Epic Tapestry certification highly preferred
  • Knowledge of revenue cycle metrics, KPIs, and process improvement techniques relative to these areas.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate user requirements into system specifications
  • Demonstrates a strong ability to build partnerships and influence others. Work across team, group and business boundaries to drive commonality and reusability in solution to real-world problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $64,800 to $116,000.
