The Instructional Designer is expected to design and develop
effective and measurable eLearning courses, facilitator guides, and
other educational materials. This individual will use instructional
design and adult learning best practices, MEDHOST Education process
and standards, effective time management, and strong partnerships
to ensure deliverables meet business needs. Part of a dynamic team
of learning specialists, the position is located in the Education
department, within MEDHOST Operations.
--- Collaborate with team members, subject matter experts, business
partners, and stakeholders in the design, development, and
maintenance of interactive eLearning courses and live or virtual
instructor-led training resources, including facilitator and
participant guides, PowerPoint slides, and job aids.
--- Apply thorough knowledge of instructional design and adult
learning methodology to ensure successful learning outcomes that
fully meet the needs of the audience and business.
--- Implement live or virtual instructor-led training resources via
--- Research, select, and modify existing eLearning, instructor-led
resources, job aids, etc. to develop blended learning
--- Design evaluation strategies and tools to determine whether
desired learning and performance outcomes are achieved.
--- Review program evaluations, test results, and participant and
manager feedback to make course and curriculum improvements.
--- Consult on the development of project schedules that support
business needs. Set appropriate and attainable project milestones,
identify project dependencies and potential roadblocks, use good
judgment and problem-solving skills to mitigate risks, and know
when escalation of risk is appropriate.
--- Follow processes and procedures related to storage, archiving,
and version control of multimedia assets and course files in
accordance with MEDHOST Education's standard repository structure
--- Demonstrate ability to build trust-based partnerships and be an
active participant in effective collaborations across all areas and
levels of the organization: leadership, business partners, peers,
stakeholders, and subject matter experts.
--- Other duties as required.
--- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Learning and
Development, or related field preferred.
--- Three to five years of Instructional Design experience.
--- Excellent written and oral communication.
--- A portfolio demonstrating experience in the development of
software or technical training, including eLearning courses.
--- Adobe Captivate experience required. Adobe Photoshop experience
--- Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning and instructional
design theory and concepts.
--- Ability to adapt to MEDHOST process and standards in all phases
of instructional design.
--- Ability to adapt writing style, tone, and use of graphics to
support MEDHOST brand.
--- Desire to actively contribute your voice, ideas, and effort to
a team that is dedicated to continuous improvement.
--- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; able to adapt
quickly to change.
--- Ability to remain professional under high-pressure
--- Work with and maintain confidential information and discreetly
handle sensitive materials.
--- Detail-oriented with ability to work on multiple tasks
--- Ability to work independently and be self-sufficient - while
succeeding in a team environment.
--- Ability to listen to customers and to understand and respond
positively to their requests.
--- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications,
including Word, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Knowledge of
advanced Word functionality, including Templates and Styles,
