This position is for an Instructional Designer to work with the OptumInsight Learning Services team, primarily supporting the Subrogation business, part of Non-Clinical Payment Integrity. Chief responsibilities of this position will be to design, develop and update engaging learning events that supports the Subrogation business unit.

This role requires collaboration with business partners and other training resources to ensure the appropriate programs, courses, and measurements are in place. They will translate analysis into workable, engaging, and interactive learning modules for classroom, virtual, and computer-based delivery. In addition, they may be responsible for conducting train the trainer sessions on newly created content and programs for the delivery staff.

In this role, the instructional designer will work closely with the Operational Teams to identify training opportunities and implement strategies to design, develop, and deliver that training to make the staff more efficient. Additionally, they will network across other areas of Optum to broaden their knowledge base and expand the training offering.

Primary Responsibilities:
Instructional Design and Development - 65% Follows industry standard design process model(s) for assigned projects
Anticipate customer needs and proactively develop solutions to meet them
Perform medium sized needs and audience analyses with segment teams supported
Develop learning assessments/quizzes/proficiency tests/knowledge checks for use before or during training delivery and tools/resources for evaluating/measuring post-training learning effectiveness (e.g., scenarios, case studies, knowledge checks, assessments, performance exams, surveys, focus groups, etc.)
Works with Articulate, Camtasia, or other similar tools to design, develop and deploy engaging learning events
May provide mentoring/support for junior team members
May participate in internal Quality Assurance review process
Reviews and applies learner, instructor, and other feedback into design work to improve learner experience and/or improve performance metrics

Project Management - 20% Manage end to end lifecycle of small and medium sized projects
Run multiple projects concurrently
Develop, document, and communicate project plans for assigned projects (e.g., in-scope/out-of-scope elements, timeframes, resources, roles/responsibilities, priorities, feasibility analyses, risks/assumptions)
Continuously engage/collaborate with appropriate stakeholders and SMEs needed to identify business needs, performance goals and gaps, business issues (e.g., quality data, production data), specific knowledge, skills, behaviors needed to achieve desired performance levels

Learning Management System Administration - 10% Performs Learning Management System (LMS) administration functions
Runs and provides reporting of attendance, hours, and performance

Other duties as assigned - 5%

Required Qualifications:
3+ years of Instructional Design experience including instructor-led training in a corporate environment for the classroom and virtually, designing user guides, participant/facilitator guides, and job aids
Experience designing computer-based training using Articulate, Camtasia or similar authoring tool
Experience creating and editing audio and/or video
Experience with learning management systems
Experience in leading small to medium-scale development of curriculum, including classroom, webinar, and computer-based training modules
Project Analysis experience
Project Management experience
Proven track record of utilizing adult learning principles to design effective, engaging, and innovative learning solutions
Proven record of excellent time management, organizational, prioritization skills, and demonstrated agility (ability to manage multiple/competing priorities & wear multiple hats)
Dynamic verbal and written communicator, create and maintain a collaborative work environment with critical business partners, ability to garner the buy in of multiple areas
Ability to deal with ambiguity (writing content on topics you are not the expert, leverage development and escalation process(s), SMEs, process documents etc. for content and media)
Preferred Qualifications:
Undergraduate Degree
Storyline experience
Camtasia experience
Experience creating processes, guidelines, and procedures for training organizations
Experience in Process mapping/documentation
Experience supporting claims, insurance, and/or medical billing organizations
Experience working within large matrix organizations with international business partners
Experience working with the Subrogation business

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $53,300 to $95,100. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $58,800 to $104,600.
