Job Description
Community Health Systems is a leading operator of general acute
care hospitals and outpatient care centers in communities across
the United States. CHS affiliates own, lease or operate 83
affiliated hospitals in 16 states with an aggregate of
approximately 13,000 licensed beds. Healthcare services are also
provided in more than 1,000 outpatient sites of care including
affiliated physician practices, urgent care centers, freestanding
emergency departments, imaging centers, cancer centers, and
ambulatory surgery centers.
Summary:
CHS is looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Applications
Engineer passionate about leveraging next generation applications /
technologies to push the healthcare industry forward. You will be
responsible for overseeing full application stacks, from the
operating system through COTs applications, using Terraform to
maintain infrastructure as code in Google cloud-based computing
environments. You are a dynamic leader with a proven track record
of managing applications, improving upon and modernizing technology
stacks, and making decisions that satisfy and deliver on
stakeholder requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1.
Own the technology stack in the Google Cloud Platform and help
drive the technical direction for our systems, technologies, and
architecture.
2.
Utilize terraform to securely deploy and manage infrastructure as
code.
3.
Lead the configuration, maintenance, enhancement, and support of
commercial software packages, internally developed applications,
and web services.
4.
Lead the customization and addition of new features to commercial
software packages and internally developed applications according
to facility and customer requests.
5.
Be comfortable working cross-functionally with developers, cloud
platform engineers, the business, and Cloud Service Provider on
architecture design requirements for cloud application
services.
6.
Participate in and support application security reviews and threat
modeling, including code review and dynamic testing.
7.
Provide feedback to Application Portfolio Managers and Architects
to help refine service design and security standards.
Qualifications
Required Education:
?Bachelors Degree or 4 years equivalent professional experience
Preferred Education:
N/A
Required Experience:
Minimum 6 years of relevant application experience in DevSecOps
environment, utilizing GCP services, solutions, and
provisioning/automating GCP application services and tools.
?Minimum ??2 years of hands-on experience with Cloud using Google
Cloud Platform (GCP)
Self-starter with an in-depth hands-on work experience with
multiple large-scale implementations of applications in Google
Cloud Platform
Knowledge of leveraging terraform to manage infrastructure as
code
Knowledge of and experience migrating, refactoring, and
re-engineering complex enterprise applications from legacy
platforms to cloud
Strong understanding and experience with common security libraries,
security controls, and common security flaws.
Knowledge of and experience designing and managing Cloud
controls
Broad IT security experience and API security knowledge
Excellent and professional communication skills (written and
verbal) with an ability to articulate complex topics in a clear and
concise manner.
Preferred Experience:
?Knowledge and usage of the GCP platform is essential
Experience designing and implementing secure and scalable Cloud
application architecture (GCP specific)
Knowledge of and experience in designing and using application
patterns to drive cloud migration
Experience in designing and implementing scalable, distributed
systems leveraging cloud computing technologies
Knowledge of cloud architecture standards and framework in
alignment with enterprise architecture standards
Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (Terraform, ARM
templates)
Ability to work independently, manage small engagements or parts of
large engagements.

Computer Skills Required:
?Strong oral and written communication skills, including
presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint).
