Job Description:
Research Technician.
Location: Franklin, TN
Duration: 12 Months
Description:
To provide expertise in the management of the product testing
lifecycle for the Client Petcare R&D research team, supporting
Consumer Technical Insights/Sensory, Product Development, and
Product Performance.
Manage product procurement, coordinate shipping, create pack-out
requests and process test requests.
Support Consumer Technical Insight research objectives.
Ensures all aspects of internal and external product testing in
this field (internal and external research projects) are delivered
to the appropriate quality and technical standards as demanded by
the Global Petcare business.
Skill Requirements:
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience (technical or analytical
field a plus)
Detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced
environment
Strong organizational, analytical, writing, and communication
skills
Analytical nature and experience compiling and producing
reports
Serve as a liaison to all vendors
Positive and enthusiastic team player with intellectual curiosity
and drive to learn
Assignment Level Descriptor:
Entry level position with basic knowledge of Assignment procedures
and tools obtained through work experience and may require
vocational or technical education. Acquires basic skills to perform
routine tasks.
Work is prescribed and completed with little autonomy.
Works with either close supervision or under clearly defined
procedures
This is typically a Assignment with significantly more authority
and responsibility at this Assignment level.
It should be selected to recognize differences which are not enough
to be represented by a separate Assignment level, such as increased
proficiency in skills/competencies to perform responsibilities,
greater impact to the business unit, customer, segment, geography,
etc. May also provide guidance or leadership to other
Associates.

Delivers value and growth by driving product quality, assuring
consumer safety and promoting efficiency based on robust science
while developing consumer-relevant products, process and
packaging.
Assignment Family:
Sensory
Designs, executes and interprets sensory attributes and consumer
liking of products. Completes statistical analysis and prepares
reports. Uses outside agencies and internal resources for testing.
Provides expertise at identifying product characteristics and
understanding consumer needs.
Sensory Evaluation Research:
Sensory Evaluation Research work is focused on researching, testing
and evaluating how human senses (sight, smell, touch and hearing)
respond to products and ingredients including:
Developing sensory evaluation testing methods and programs and
techniques such as mass spectrometry and magnetic resonance imaging
Overseeing the quantitative descriptive analysis panel to support
new product development on sensory profile mapping
Interpreting statistical analysis of sensory testing results
Ensuring quality standards are met according to established
schedules and costs
