BluePearl Veterinary Hospital is hiring an exceptional Full-Time Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery Team.Schedule: Day-time position with occasional on-call responsibilityPay: $21.00 - $41.00 / hourThis pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through CareerTrax leveling system.** Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience**Are you committed and passionate about enriching lives through remarkable care for pets?Do you thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and rewarding work environment?Are you a team player who enjoys working together on a team to provide quality care for pets?If you answered 'yes' to these questions, then we want to hear from you.A BluePearl Surgery Technician is responsible for some post-operative client communication and must be able to work independently while contributing to a larger team goal. Prefer to have a minimum of two or more years of experience in a veterinary hospital. A rotating on call schedule is required once training has been completed.As a Surgery Veterinary Technician, you will:Assist in patient procedures using knowledge of anesthesia and analgesia related protocols and procedures, including formulating anesthetic plans tailored to individual patient needs.Monitor anesthesia, trouble shoot anesthetic complications, and make appropriate interventions.Intravenous catheter placement, endotracheal intubation, and anesthetic equipment use and maintenance.Perform physical exam; accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.Understand normal vital parameters and alerts doctor when abnormal.Set up intravenous fluids and CRIs.Continuous expansion of knowledge and skillset: advanced anesthetic skills including epidurals, difficult airway intubation, and critical case management.Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors.Comfortable with medical math.Ability to take patient through entire procedure from start to finish (pre-op, monitoring, post-op, and recovery)Manage appointments, obtain histories, medical record keeping, invoicing, patient discharges, etc.Disconnect and connect patients from intravenous fluids aseptically.Monitor patient response to fluid therapy including signs of overload.Why BluePearl?Our passion is pets.
