Description Position Overview The Assistant Principal of
Multilingual Services will oversee and lead multilingual learner
programming across the school, ensuring that systems, instruction,
and support effectively meet the needs of students. This role will
manage and coach multilingual teachers and interventionists,
provide strategic guidance to lead teachers to ensure strong
implementation of language supports and individualized language
plans, and monitor compliance and instructional quality for
multilingual learners. The Assistant Principal of Multilingual
Services will partner with school leadership to drive high-quality
outcomes for multilingual students. ”Day in the life”
responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Management
of Multilingual Services Lead and oversee the implementation of
TNDOE-approved multilingual service models aligned to student and
school needs. Coach and support general education and multilingual
staff to ensure effective instruction and strong implementation of
Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs). Use data to guide ILP
development, monitor student progress, and inform instructional
supports for multilingual learners. Oversee identification,
screening, placement, and exit processes for multilingual students
in accordance with KIPP Nashville, state, and federal requirements.
Ensure compliance with all multilingual learner regulations and
oversee required assessments and accommodations (e.g., ELPA,
TNReady). Monitor and support transitional (T1–T2) students to
ensure continued growth and appropriate services. Professional
Development for Staff Plan, implement, and provide ongoing
professional development and feedback to all staff, focusing on
differentiation and supporting students with varying needs Conduct
classroom observations with other Assistant Principals with a
specific focus on improving access, growth and achievement for
English Language Learners Organize summer training and weekly
professional development days in coordination with the Principal
and other Assistant Principals Teacher Coaching Conduct classroom
observations and follow-up with targeted feedback to multilingual
teachers and interventionists to increase efficacy of instruction
Conduct weekly one on one conversations with direct reports,
including time for relationship building, gathering feedback,
assessing individual needs, and providing feedback Provide lesson
plan feedback to direct reports As needed, consult on lesson plan
strategies for differentiation to all staff members Conduct twice a
year teacher performance evaluation Teach classes when necessary to
avoid gaps in mandated services or for professional development of
teachers. School-Wide Leadership Participate in the teacher
recruitment and hiring process, in collaboration with the
Principal. Serve as an active member of the School Leadership Team,
meeting weekly for strategic planning and discussion of school
initiatives and data Qualifications: Currently possess a TN ELL
license 5 years ELL teaching experience 1 one year of adult
management/teacher coaching Model of effective and high-quality
teaching Excellent organization skills and ability to create
effective schedules An analytical view of student progress towards
standards; skilled in data collection, analysis and presentation
Excellent communicator, who can work with internal and external
stakeholders Demonstrated success in raising the achievement levels
of special education students Demonstrated success developing
academic programs and academic culture Demonstrated success
planning staff professional development and coaching teachers

Information Salary is commensurate with experience, and includes
benefits. This position is exempt and will work and be compensated
according to a 12 month administrative schedule. Robust benefits
package including medical, dental, vision, disability, and life
insurance policy options. Application for these benefits may be
made immediately upon employment. The policy is effective upon the
first of the month following the first day of work. Certificated
staff have access to the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System
pension plan(TCRS). Eligible employees contribute 5% and KIPP
matches up to 6.81%. Employees may also be eligible for 401k in
which KIPP will contribute 5%. The vacation package for salaried
employees includes 29 paid days throughout the 10 month work
schedule(including holidays, fall break, thanksgiving break, winter
break) as well as summer break. In addition employees in this role
are allotted 6 PTO days as well as 10 additional days to take
during the summer break. Employees are allotted an additional 2
days after every 2 consecutive years of employment. Eligible staff
members receive payment for unused PTO days at the end of the
fiscal year. Adoption/Parental Caregiver Leave- up to 10 weeks
parental leave for the primary caregiver and 2 weeks parental leave
for the secondary caregiver paid at 100%. Leaders are provided with
laptop computers with access to the internet and or email to assist
them in performing their job responsibilities.
